Title: Final Decision

I still have somewhat mixed feelings about the title—it feels too simple, etc.—but I have decided on a title.

I can now secure a domain and proceed with the website upgrades and edits that I’ve been trying to do. Thank you all for your patience and support in this, and I will try to get the website in its (hopefully) final form (aside from minor edits in the future) by the end of next month.

I will also use this opportunity to ask for prayer. School is starting back, but I am struggling to get back into the school routine. I am taking several dual-enrollment courses, normal high school courses, starting karate, teaching Algebra II at a co-op, running this website, working on weekends, etc, etc. I have a very full schedule, lots of decisions weighing on me, normal life problems, specific personal struggles, and even depression (unrelated to current life, but very much exacerbated by it), and I am completely overwhelmed by it all. There are days when I can list five different major tasks I need to work on, but all I want to do is go back to sleep, even though I’m not tired. So, without going further into details, I would like to ask for prayer that I would be able to deal with it all, and not just hide myself in books, naps, computer activities, and work, and that God would give me peace.

Matter follow-up

I recently got a really cool confirmation on my matter idea. A Korean family stayed at my house last week, and the dad was a theoretician. He teaches quantum physics at a university in South Korea, and was here on a research trip. I jumped at the chance to get an educated opinion on my ideas, and had him read my Ultramatter, Gravity Shield, and Matter ideas. He was ecstatic to find a student that actually cared about school, instead of just being in it for the grade and degree, and he gave me his email address so we could keep in touch and he could give his input on my other ideas as he reads them, but the most exciting part was his response to my matter idea. As soon as he read the main concept about matter being a vibration, he said, “How did you know…?”

Apparently, one of the main concepts of quantum physics is the idea that matter, in its most basic form, is a vibration. On the one hand it’s slightly disappointing that I did not think of it first, but on the other hand, this means that I WAS RIGHT!! (at least in the basic concept), which, needless to say, is really encouraging. One of my ideas was actually correct, at least to an extent! The Korean dad pointed me to the Grand Unity Theory, which is one of various Unified Field Theories, which attempt to explain all aspects of the universe except for gravity in terms of one field. I tried to read up about it, but it required too much back knowledge and would have taken way too long to research about it, but apparently it theorizes that matter in its most basic form is a vibration. My theory would be a Theory of Everything, because it includes gravity in the things it explains in terms of one field, and Scientists are ultimately hoping to come up with a Theory of Everything, but so far the only theories that are deemed plausible have been Unified Field Theories.

Here are the titles I have come up with so far. Any one of them could probably be vastly improved along the same lines, but these are the main ideas, and the examples give you an idea of what I’m looking for. I’d prefer a reference to God being the reason for science, but I couldn’t find a quote that would work, and I couldn’t remember the ones I’ve seen in the past. Which would you like to see as my new title? Do you have suggestions of your own? I’ve added a poll at the end of this post whose results will weigh rather heavily in my decision.

August Update and Science Video

I did no website work this month, but it was by no means an unproductive month. As some of you know, this was National Novel Writing Month, and Gabrielle at Write for the King used the month to go back over her novel and edit it. I am editing it for her, so this meant, in large part, incorporating my edits, but I had not finished them. So this month was spent exclusively on finishing the edits on her book. However, that has been the biggest competition for website work, so now that I am finished with that, I will have more time to devote to finishing this website. So here are my goals for this month:

  1. Decide on a new website name
  2. Purchase a domain in accordance with that name
  3. Get the forum set up

I really can’t project much further. I won’t likely get much website work done, because school will be starting back, and I will be doing several dual enrollment courses, teaching, working, and a few normal homeschool courses, but I should be able to work with the person who is helping me with the website to at least learn how to operate it all better.

I have some website name ideas, and I will try to get a post out about that soon, and I would really appreciate any feedback you can give me. I hope to base it on a quote from a Christian scientist about the linkage between God and Science.

In the meantime, I will leave you with one of my favorite Smarter Every Day videos to chew on.

July Update and Science Video

Thank you guys for your patience as I figure out how to work this whole thing.

My website development has taken a new turn. A friend got me in contact with someone who works with WordPress professionally, and who will help me navigate this new world of website administration for free. As a result of my work with him and another friend’s suggestions, I will be upgrading to the self-hosted version of WordPress–so no “.wordpress.com” at the end, and increased functionality, including plugins, so I can do a forum without linking to an outside website–and changing the name of the site while I’m at it. However, I will freely admit that I am not good at naming things (hence the current name), so I would love any suggestions you guys have.  Put suggestions in the comments for this post, and if I can’t decide between a few, I will make another post and poll you guys for my decision.

In the meantime, here is another science video. I can’t put them side by side, so you will have to open them in separate windows (they need to be side by side). Enjoy, and God bless.

Update and Cat Flipping Physics

In my last update, I said I would be back to posting by June.  June is here, and I am not quite ready to post.  Last month ended up being very…interesting with life happening all around me. Why does life have to happen? I don’t know when I will be back to posting, as it depends on a number of factors, but here is what is on my plate at the moment:

  1. Finish editing the last four chapters of a book for Gabrielle over at Write for the King
  2. Finish learning the admin console for the forum website I have set up, since a free WordPress account does not allow plugins, which are necessary for a WordPress forum
  3. Finish working on pictures for each of my posts so far
  4. I might be able to get in touch with someone who does website design professionally and get him to help me on this stuff for free, in which case I will probably do a bit more work revamping both this and the forum website
  5. Overcoming a debilitating apathy that has been hanging over me for the past few months, which varies in intensity and has been fairly bad recently

I will also be working this around farm work for my parents and my summer job, but hopefully I will be able to overcome those time suckers enough to post at least once or twice a month.

For now, while you wait for me to make a real post, enjoy this video from Smarter Every Day:

Update and Cool Magnet Video

So yeah. I’ve been a slacker.  I haven’t even done background website admin stuff in over a month, and I haven’t even visited the admin console in at least two or three weeks.  I have been bogged down in school, so I haven’t had time to work on this; I have had limited internet access, so when I have had time, I didn’t have the ability, and I have had limited willpower, so when I have had time and ability, I just haven’t even worked on something to tell you what is going on.  So I am making it official: I am shutting this website down.  Not to worry, though, I am simply moving the website to 6tscience.wordpress.com. The new website is still under construction, and I don’t plan to do any work on it until school lets out, but hopefully I will finish building the website sometime next month and be back to posting by June.  I apologize for disappearing, and I will try to be more consistent in the future.

In the meantime, the least I can do is refer you to someone else for a cool science injection, so here you are:

Gravity Waves Detected

So, from what I can tell, somehow my website started to try to portray itself as an https site instead of an http site, which, in the long run, took the website down.  I don’t know how that happened, but I apologize for not taking care of it faster.  Anyway, it’s back up now, and I might as well get back to posting.

Gravity Waves Detected edited

On February 11, the scientists at the Laser Interferometer Gravitational-Wave Observatory (or LIGO) detected a blip.  That blip provided massive evidence for Einstein’s theory for how gravity works. The LIGO is essentially a gravity microphone.  To avoid wasting time on describing the discovery, here is the news release for those of you who haven’t heard of it yet: https://www.ligo.caltech.edu/news/ligo20160211

This discovery provides a large amount of plausibility to my gravity shield idea, because if gravity does work in this way (as supported by the blip), and if we can detect the fluctuations in space-time, it isn’t much further to actually manipulate it.  And if we can manipulate it, we can do most, if not all, of the things I mention in my gravity shield page are possible.

I have recently been longing for telepathy more and more, due to the many complicated thoughts that make their rounds through my head that I both want and need to say, but don’t lend themselves easily (and sometimes not at all) to words. So it has become more and more common for me to be quiet for a long time, and then suddenly wish out loud for telepathy.  I now have good news: telepathy appears to be possible.

Scientists are making breakthroughs neurology, and while the technology is currently invasive, we can actually control things outside of our bodies through our brains. One example of this is a robotic arm that (I assume via surgery) is connected to a paralyzed person’s brain, allowing them to directly control that arm. I am also aware of an experiment that was conducted in which two people were connected to each other with a technology that appears to be similar to that used with the robotic arm in the last example. One person sat in front a screen, and the other sat in another room with a video game controller in his hand.  The first person was actually able to play simple video games on the screen in front of him by controlling the other person’s hands on the controller.

With some further insights into how thoughts and ideas are formed and held in the human brain, this same technology could be used to communicate telepathically. A further sophistication would be to actually have a form of transmitter and receiver surgically added to the head so people could telepathically communicate without having to physically connect each other.  You could even have something like a cell phone tower to relay telepathic signals so you could telepath (or whatever the verb form of the word is) to someone on the other side of the world.

But what if the owner of the telepathy relay decided to keep a record of your thoughts, or the government decided to add a memory chip to the telepathy transmitter in your head? So much for 1984! You could have a literal thought police! The more sophisticated versions of this would certainly be very invasive, but it is a very cool idea, in my opinion, and a dream made possible for me.

For literature purposes, you could use this to make a dystopian government with a thought police, or that has a reeducation camp where they install chips that control your thoughts and makes it impossible for you to disobey or at least monitors your thoughts and reports them to the government. You could also use this to make exterior memory chips, so you could memorize stuff more easily.  You could have doors where you have to plug your brain into a security device to open it, or a secret society that communicates in the middle of everyone via telepathy.  You could use this for a fanatical special ops team in which their vocal chords are taken out and they are telepathically linked, thus enabling absolute silence during operations.  You could use this for pet training, drone flying, internet surfing, project planning, car driving, game playing, public speaking, psychology researching, and the list goes on and on.  A lot of this would be possible in real life, though many of them would require research that proves even further that that necessary for the basic idea (such as learning how various pets’ minds work to enable human/animal telepathic links).
